    Bone Cancer

    It is not easy when you learn that you are suffering from bone cancer or any other form of cancer for that matter. It is only natural to ask yourself many questions. What really causes this disease is not known. However, it is said that it could be inherited. If you have at one time in your life suffered a fracture and a metal implant have been put in your body to rectify the fracture, that too could expose you to bone cancer.

    This disease usually affects teenagers and young adults. Cancer cells or the type of cancer is known by where the abnormal cancer cells starts developing. For instance, if the cancerous cells metastasizes to the lungs, the disease does not become lung cancer. It still remains metastasized bone cancer.

    There are various types of bone cancer. They include the following:

    - Sarcoma: This type of cancer arises form osteoid tissue which is found in the bone. It is very common in the knee area or in the upper arm.

    - Ewing’s Sarcoma: This one is named after the surgeon who discovered it. It is prevalent in males. It affects the thigh bones, shin bone, thigh bone and the pelvis.

    - Chondrosoma: This one usually starts in the cartilage cells. However, it could also grow within a bone or its surface

    The main symptom for bone cancer could be excessive pain. There could however be other symptoms. It is advisable to consult your doctor when in pain to rule out chances of you having the disease.
